Projects (also called allocations or causes) let donors direct their donation to a specific purpose. For example: "Building fund" or "Scholarships". You create the projects once. Then you can add them to your donation forms and use them in your reports.
You can manage projects if you signed in with your charity ID number, or if you are a user with the Donation Forms permission.
How do I add a project?
Go to Settings › Organization › Projects/Allocations.
Under Donation Allocations, enter the Project/Cause Name in English (required). Israeli charities can also enter a Hebrew name in the second box.
In Credit card statement, you can enter the text donors see on their card statement for donations to this project. See the next section.
Tick Include on your donation form to list this project in the project drop-down on your donation forms. Untick it to keep the project out of the drop-down.
Click Save Allocation.
The project appears in the Projects and Causes list below. Its number is in the ID column. You need this number for links and imports.
What is the credit card statement text?
This is the text that appears on a donor's credit card statement, for card donations to this project that are processed through Stripe.
You can enter up to 22 characters.
Use English letters, numbers, spaces and these symbols:
_ @ . / # & + -. Other characters are removed as you type.It must contain at least one letter. Numbers alone are not accepted.
It is optional.
How do I edit or delete a project?
To edit: click the pencil icon in the Actions column. The project's details appear in the form at the top. Make your changes and click Save Allocation.
To delete: click the trash icon. In Delete Project?, click Confirm.
The Show on donation form column says Yes when the project is in the drop-down. It says No (store) when Include on your donation form is unticked, or when the project belongs to one of your stores. Store projects have no edit or delete icons. Manage them from the store.
How do donors choose a project?
There are three ways:
A drop-down on your MYSITE form. Go to Fundraise › Donation Forms › Create a MYSITE form (or edit an existing form). In step 1, First Steps, answer Yes to "Should we put a drop-down list of all of your active projects…". Donors then pick a project when they give.
A form for one project. In the same step, choose A donation form for a specific project, and pick the project. Every donation through this form goes to that project. See Create a MYSITE donation form.
A link with the project in it. Go to Fundraise › Donation Forms › Instant form. Next to Project:, click Add to URL, then replace
999with your project ID. If the form has no project drop-down, the project is still assigned behind the scenes. See Advanced Donation Form Integration and Features.
Where else do projects appear?
Email confirmations: you can create a donor confirmation email for one project. Go to Manage › Emailing and Receipts (Israeli charities) or Payments and Receipts (all others) › Email confirmations, and choose Email confirmation for a specific project. See Creating custom email confirmations.
Donations report: in Manage › Donations › All donations, use Filter by Donation Project/Allocation. The Project column shows each donation's project.
Donors: in Manage › CRM › Donors › My Donors, use Filter by Project/Allocation.
Imports: when you import donations in Manage › CRM › Bulk import › Donors and donations, put the project ID in the project_id column. See Import Donors and Donations.
Webhook: in Settings › Sync › Webhook, the Project filter sends only donations to that project.
