Create a MYSITE donation form

MYSITE, create donation form, donation form wizard, new form, custom donation page, form name, suggested sums, cover fee, form link, landing page

A MYSITE form is your own donation form, with your sums, currencies, design and texts. You build it in a 5-step wizard. Each step is saved when you click Next.

What do Israeli charities need first?

Israeli charities can create a new MYSITE form only after they:

  • verified their bank details, and

  • submitted an approved hora'at keva (standing order).

If something is missing, you'll see the Bank details required page instead of the wizard. Use its buttons: Verify your bank details and Submit Hora'at Keva. Until then, My MYSITE forms shows "You are not eligible to create a MySite. Please contact support".

How do I start?

Go to Fundraise › Donation Forms › Create a MYSITE form. You can also click Create a new donation form on the My MYSITE forms page.

Step 1: First Steps

  • Form Name: one word in English letters and numbers (the underscore is also allowed), 3–30 characters. Click Verify availability. The name becomes part of the form's web address and can't be changed later.

  • Choose A general donation form or A donation form for a specific project. For a specific project, pick it from the list.

  • For a general form, choose whether to add a drop-down list of all your active projects. Donors can then direct their donation to a project.

  • Use SmartSums AI on the donation form? It's on (Yes) by default. SmartSums suggests sums based on each donor's last donation. Choose No if you want donors to see exactly the sums you set on step 3. Learn more: SmartSums.

  • Enable donors to cover the transaction fee? It's on (Yes) by default. Donors can add a little to their donation so you receive the full amount. Learn more: Cover my Fee. The cover-fee option can't be combined with a tip option.

Step 2: Confirmations, Currencies, Frequencies

  • What currencies would you like on your donation form? Select one or more. If you pick a currency you're not approved for yet, a warning tells you to check the International section.

  • What frequencies would you like on your donation form? For example one-time, monthly or yearly.

  • Enter the email addresses that should get a notification of every new donation. Separate them with a semicolon (;).

  • Per currency, you can set a different Sender Name for the donor's email confirmation, and BCC addresses that get a copy. Choose the Currency, fill in the fields and click the save icon.

  • Edit the e-card for donations made in honor or in memory of someone. We email it to the person the donor chooses. If the donor asks for a printed card by post, we email the card to you to send. Don't change the bracketed fields like {5}; they fill in the donor's and honoree's details.

The e-card has a tab per language: English, plus Hebrew for Israeli charities or French for Canadian charities.

Step 3: Suggested Sums

  • Select up to 5 suggested sums for one-time (or yearly) donations.

  • Select up to 5 suggested sums for recurring monthly donations.

  • If your form has more than one language, set the sums on each language tab.

If SmartSums is on (step 1), it adjusts these sums for each donor.

Step 4: Design and Content

This step matters most if donors open the form as its own page (a landing page). If you'll embed the form in your website, you can skip ahead. See Donation Form — Embedding Guide.

  • Background Image/Color: upload a background image, or pick a background color. Both are optional.

  • Left side content (see page instructions): the text shown next to the form.

  • Donate by check or telephone: choose Use the default to show your phone number and mailing address, or Enter your own content.

  • Edit external design file (css): add your own CSS to change the form's look.

  • Analytics and Tracking code: enter your Google Measurement ID: (Google Analytics 4) and Facebook Pixel ID:. We add the tracking code to the donation page and the confirmation page. See Analytics and Conversion Tracking.

Step 5: Extras

  • One-time donations: choose whether to allow one-time donations in installments:

    • Yes, smart installments, up to this many: we turn the donation into separate monthly donations. For example, $1,000 in 10 installments becomes 10 monthly donations of $100.

    • Yes, classic installments, up to this many (Israeli charities only): the donation is split into payments, but the full amount is held on the donor's card.

  • Recurring monthly donations: choose whether donors can limit how many months their monthly donation runs.

  • For all donations: choose whether address and phone are required fields.

  • Click Preview English Form (or Preview Hebrew Form / Preview French Form). We save your changes and open the form in a new window. If nothing opens, allow pop-ups for the backoffice in your browser.

  • Click Finish. You'll go to your list of forms.

Where do I find my form's link?

Go to Fundraise › Donation Forms › My MYSITE forms. The list shows each form's Form Name, Created date, Total Raised and Donors.

Under View Page, click a language to open the form. Its address looks like https://<your-donation-site>/en/give/<form-name>. Share this link as a landing page, or use it to embed the form: Donation Form — Embedding Guide.
